So it is with the worlds,

where each lower world is an imprint of the world Above it.

Hence, all the forms in the Higher World are meticulously copied,

in both quantity and quality, to the lower world.

Thus, there is not an element of reality,

or an occurrence of reality in a lower world,

that you will not find its likeness in the world Above it,

as identical as two drops in a pond.

And they are called “Root and Branch.”

That means that the item in the lower world

is deemed a branch of its pattern,

found in the Higher World,

Being the root of the lower element,

As this is where that item in the lower world

was imprinted and made to be.

56-Foundation for Building

Foundation for Building

When building a building in corporeality,

we see that anyone

who wants to build a building

must first dig the foundations,

and on the foundation

he builds the building.

In digging the foundation,

we see that we should discern

between having to build

a one-story building-

that is, only the ground floor-

or a multi-story building.

Thus, the digging of the foundation

into the ground

should be according to the height

of the building.

The foundation is not dug at once.

Rather, each day

the foundation is built

so that it will be deeper,

and then one can build

a higher building.

The same order

applies in spirituality.

When a person wishes to build

a one-story building,

he doesn’t need to dig very deep.

He only digs a little,

and he can build his building

in keeping Torah and Mitzvot

[commandments].

And what is digging in spirituality?

It is a deficiency,

when a deficiency

is dug in the heart,

Since the heart is called “desire,”

a heart is called Malchut,

and a heart is called

“earth” or “ground.”

“I have Nothing to Wear”

A person may have more income than others,

And even more important things that his environment,

And still it is possible not to receive contentment from it.

It is more noticeable with women,

Since if they lack something, even if she has

many more things than her friends,

She feels a lack and says,

 “I’d rather be dead”.

And she is unable to comfort herself

By saying that she has more things than her friends.

Rather if her deficiency troubles her heart

She says that she is

The most miserable person in the world.

And the reason is that when one feels

A true desire

He is unable to comfort himself

By the thought that many others

have the same lack.

It follows that the feeling of torment

We suffer from not being able to fill the desire

Determines that at times brings man

to commit suicide, and only that is called

“A true deficiency.”

60-The Will And The Mind

The Will And The Mind

The will and the mind.

 The will is the essence, and it dominates.

It has many uses that are available to it.

Namely, advisor, called Mind,

and servants who carry out the actions,

called arms, legs, eyes ears and nose, etc.

And even though

the mind has understanding

and the will does not,

 in any case, the will is in controls.

According to the drawing,

the rich who has several businesses

All over the world,

and in each business

he has great and experienced managers

and clever lawyers to aid the managers. 

And he died and left the inheritance

to his son who was still a child

and has no knowledge in business matters.

And everything he wanted to know and do,

he had to consult with the managers

and the lawyers that were available to him. 

Nevertheless this child

 is the legal owner,

and not the managers and supervisors.

So it is with the will and the mind.

62-The Will of Fish

Why does man have two legs,

Two arms,

A head

And all the other organs in the body,

And a fish has no

Legs and arms,

And the body and mouth

are enough for him,

To keep himself alive

And fulfill his will?

Because the fish is a smaller desire

And man is a bigger desire,

And the force of the will

Requires this structure.

63-The Hen’s Belly

If we want to make a machine

that would be a substitute for

The hen's belly

That warms up eggs

And gives birth to chicks

–

We must first understand

 the ways of production

And development of the forces of nature

That work inside the hen's belly

–

And when we imitate them

We make a machine similar

To the hen's belly

Which is able to create chicks

Just like it does.

64-Drowning In The River

Drowning In The River

It is similar to a person who is swimming in the river.

Halfway across the river,
he grows weak,

and a person swimming next to him

gives him a push
so he will start swimming by himself.

The person who is trying to save him
gives a few pushes,

but if he sees that he doesn’t participate,

he leaves him and moves away.

Only when he sees that when he pushes him,
he begins to swim by himself

does he keep pushing him each time

until he’s out of danger.

But if he doesn’t participate, he leaves him.
